Meet our Mental Health team!  

Mrs. Kimberly Ball

Kimberly is one of our School Counselors and joined Council Rock in 2016. She has worked in local Rochester area elementary and middle schools as a School Counselor since 2009. She is originally from Grand Island, New York. Kimberly earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and organizational communications from SUNY Geneseo, and her master’s degree in School Counseling from SUNY Brockport. She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Counseling and is a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is a Certified Yoga Teacher and completed 200 hours of training through Breathe for Change in Mindfulness, Social Emotional Learning, and Yoga. 

Kimberly's favorite part of being a School Counselor is engaging with students during Social Emotional Learning classroom lessons and visiting students at lunch and recess. When not at school, Kimberly enjoys working out, being outdoors hiking or gardening, and completing renovations on her family's 1872 farmhouse. She has traveled to Ireland, France, and Italy, but her favorite place to be is visiting her parents in Florida where they live every winter. If she wasn’t a School Counselor, she would be an interior designer, floral designer, or maybe even a party planner! Kimberly lives with her husband Mitchell, their children Gwendolyn and Louis, their dogs (Irish Terrier - Killian- and Goldendoodle Puppy - Loki - who is currently training to be a Therapy Dog) along with the newest addition to the family: a Beta fish named Monroe Fishington. 

For the 2023-2024 School year, Kimberly provides general counseling support and delivers Social Emotional Learning lessons for Kindergarten. 

Mr. Mark Henretta 

Mark is our School Social Worker and has worked at Council Rock  since July 2001. Mark earned his bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University and then went on to receive his Master in Social Work (MSW) from SUNY Albany. He is licensed through the State of New York with his LMSW. In addition, he has certification in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). Mark previously worked at Monroe 2 Orleans BOCES in Spencerport, NY. At BOCES he worked in an Alternative High School Program supporting students and families. Before working at BOCES, Mark worked in State College, PA in a community agency that provided in home counseling support to children at risk of psychiatric placements. Prior to that experience, Mark worked at Hillside Children’s Center in Rochester in the Home Based Crisis Intervention Program. He provided in home counseling support to families whose children were at risk of an out of home placement. Mark and his wife have two children who are both currently attending college. Mark also has a Goldendoodle named Sedona. Sedona keeps Mark very busy as she has lots of energy! In his free time Mark enjoys camping, hiking, kayaking, reading, spending time on the water, and other outdoor activities.  Mark has visited all 50 states and enjoys spending time at National Parks throughout the country. Mark enjoys watching all kinds of sports at all levels. He is a big Penn State sports fan in part due to his time living in State College, PA. He is also a big Tampa Bay Buccaneer football fan. Mark’s favorite part of his job is listening to children talk about all the fun things they do at school. Mark also likes to find opportunities to eat lunch and spend time with children at recess. If Mark were not a school social worker he would like to be a National Park Ranger.

Mark provides support for students and families in all grade levels. 

Mrs. Emily Hopkins-Ives

Emily obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from SUNY Geneseo prior to completing a Master’s and Certificate of Advanced Studies in School Psychology at Rochester Institute of Technology. She is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. A Rochester native, she lived in Northern Virginia with her husband for four years prior to moving back to their beloved Western New York. While in Northern Virginia, Emily worked as a school psychologist at a variety of levels including preschool, high school, and a few different elementary schools. When making the transition back to NY, Emily looked forward to being able to become part of one school as making daily connections with students, parents, and educators is one of her favorite parts of being a school psychologist. Emily worked at Victor Primary School for a little over four years and was thrilled to start at Council Rock Primary School in January 2024. When not at work, Emily enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter, and dog, Henry. In the summertime, Emily enjoys relaxing in the sun at the Finger Lakes.

As part of Emily’s role, she often serves in the dual role of Committee on Special Education (CSE) Chairperson, in addition to working with school teams as a school psychologist. The role of a school psychologist is extremely fulfilling for Emily as she required an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) during her elementary years. She has gratitude for the educators that supported her during this time and hopes to be able to recreate that level of support for children at CRPS. Emily’s goal is for children to feel successful in school and to provide education and advocacy for parents through the special education journey.

Ms. Dana Peterson

Dana joined the Council Rock team as a School Counselor in the fall of the 2021 year. She worked at local elementary schools as a School Counselor since graduating from SUNY Brockport with her master’s degree in December 2020. Before becoming a School Counselor, Dana worked as a teacher’s aide for five years. Dana loves popping into classrooms for social and emotional learning and making connections with students in the classroom and through group and individual counseling. In her free time Dana loves to spend time with her family, go on hikes with her dog Ruby, play board games, and refinish furniture.        

For the 2023-2024 School year, Dana provides general counseling support and delivers Social Emotional Learning lessons for First grade.    

Mrs. Keturah Reedhead 

Keturah is one of our School Counselors and joined Council Rock in 2018. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Alfred University in 2011 and after taking a year off, returned to school to get her Master’s in School Counseling from SUNY Brockport in 2015. Before joining CRPS, Keturah worked as a School Counselor in the Honeoye Falls-Lima school district. Keturah enjoys reading (scifi mostly), playing games (board and video), exploring new places with her family, and renovating her fixer upper. She lives with her husband, Vincent, her son, Oliver, her daughter Elliott, and her 2 cats, Emory and Lovey. If Keturah was not a School Counselor, she would be an interior designer or event planner as those are some of her favorite things to do! Keturah’s goals are to learn the piano and how to properly bake bread. Keturah’s favorite parts of being a school counselor are connecting with students in the classroom as well as one on one. Keturah enjoys getting silly during classroom Second Step lessons.

Mrs. Mary Jo St. George

MaryJo has been a Primary Project Child Associate at Council Rock since October of 1997, after spending eleven years as a stay-at-home mom. Initially employed by BOCES, working at Council Rock, she was later hired as a BCSD employee, when the district took over their Primary Project Program. While working as a Child Associate, she has received extensive training through BOCES and The Children’s Institute, as well as weekly supervision/mentoring, from the wonderful Council Rock Counseling Team. MaryJo loves all aspects of working as a Child Associate, as she knows play is such an integral part of child development. When not at school playing with Council Rock kids, MaryJo can usually be found playing with her grandkids, ages 5, 2 and 3 months.  Some of her other favorite activities include spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, reading, listening to music, most any type of exercise…especially yoga and meditation. MaryJo and her husband have 2 adult children, 3 grandchildren and one large, golden retriever grand-dog.

Mrs. Amber Woodward  

Amber is one of our Primary Project Child Associates. She has been at Council Rock Primary School working with children since 2014.
