CRPS Students Learn About Bike and Pedestrian Safety

Council Rock Primary School students learned about bike and pedestrian safety during physical education class last week. Jean Triest and Amy Henderson, traffic safety specialists from the Monroe County Department of Public Safety, and Alannah Scardino from the Brighton Fire Department, came in to teach students about how to stay safe. Physical education teachers Mrs. Cooper and Coach Krieger then led them through some activities to practice looking both ways when crossing the street, obeying the light at crosswalks, watching out for vehicles backing up in parking lots, and safely passing a pedestrian while biking.
 
The day helped students prepare for Bike and Walk to School Week.
