Brighton Fire Department Brings Fire Safety Lessons — and a Fire Truck — to Council Rock

Posted Date: 10/16/25 (7:00 AM)

The Brighton Fire Department visited Council Rock Primary School as part of Fire Prevention Month in October. In the library, firefighter Alannah Scardino talked about fire safety with first and second graders. She read the book “No Dragons for Tea” by Jean E. Pendziwol to kindergartners and gave them each a copy of the book to keep. They also learned how she puts on her protective gear. Kindergarteners also received the opportunity to go outside and see one of the fire trucks up close with Scardino and fellow firefighters Adrian Humphrey, Patrick Payne, and Captain Steve Benson. They learned about the firefighting equipment and were invited to climb on the truck. Thank you to the Brighton Fire Department for providing this opportunity.
