Brighton Believes in Investing in Excellence: World Language
Dear Community Members,
The 2026–27 budget proposal continues Brighton’s Investment in Excellence, including our World Language Department.
At Brighton Central School District, we believe learning a language is about so much more than grammar and vocabulary. It's about becoming a global citizen and developing a love for cultural differences.
We offer French, German, and Spanish in grades 6–12. While world language instruction is not required by New York State to begin in sixth grade, early access provides meaningful benefits for students at a critical transition point in their learning.
For 40 years, Brighton has been the only district in the area to host language interns from around the world.
At Brighton High School, our students participate in exchange programs with Rennes, France; Mérès, Spain; and Bremen, Germany.
